Music is the food of love but wonderful food makes the music all the sweeter.
At this year’s Blackwater Valley Opera Festival, there is an outstanding array of dining and hospitality choices, from the beautiful walled gardens of Lismore Castle, to supper and lunch at our newest venue, Dromore Yard.
We have fabulous feasts, luscious desserts, the finest snacks and vegetarian options, and we will be presenting a special menu for the performances of L’Italiana In Algeri.

The Opera Menu

This year we’re proud to offer a unique three-course menu by chef Eunice Power. The operatic adventures for L’Italiana in Algeri are set within Algeria and the Mediterranean coastline, and Eunice has used this region as inspiration.

The meal will be available at all performances of L’Italiana In Algeri and must be pre booked and pre paid. Price €50.00 p.p., excl. €3.50 sales commission per order.

Informal Opera Dining

You can also dine informally at the Opera. The informal dining option consists of a Picnic box Middle Eastern Fare by Mezze of Waterford. Please note that our restaurant and bars will be open pre opera in Lismore Castle Gardens, and throughout the 45 minute interval.No admission is granted to castle garden or grounds without an opera ticket. Dining and bars are open to opera guests only. Guests are not allowed to bring food and drinks into the gardens.

Dining at Dromore Yard

This year we are also delighted to announce that we will have fabulous feasts at our newest venue, Dromore Yard. On Thursday May 31st, we will offer a three course dinner menu, and there will be lunch served on Friday, June 1st. Again, we urge you to book these options as soon as possible.

Thursday May 31st Pre Recital Supper for Nadège Rochat

Ted Berner will provide a five course Summer menu combining the best of an east Cork garden and farm, plus some wild and foraged produce, bringing it all together over a slow burning beech and oak fire. Carefully chosen wines complete the picture. This delicious sit-down dinner takes place at the romantic Dromore Yard before Nadège Rochat’s beautiful cello recital on Thursday evening. Dinner served at 6pm.
