With just six weeks until Blackwater Valley Opera Festival 2019 we are delighted to announce that the Saturday evening performance of Don Pasquale at Lismore Castle has completely sold out. Dinner & picnic options are still available to those who have already secured tickets for Saturday evening.
Tickets for both Wednesday and Friday performances are still available here
Commenting on the news New Festival Director, Eamonn Carroll said “We are encouraged by the mounting level of interest and anticipation in this year’s Festival. This is the earliest ‘sell out’ yet of one of our opera evenings and is evidence of our growing reputation and popularity. The opera is the centrepiece of the festival, but we also have a marvellous programme of recitals and concerts. All of which have been arranged by our artistic director Dieter Kaegi. With tickets selling very well for all performances we are really looking forward to celebrating our 10th anniversary this year with returning festival friends and many new ones.”
Eamonn continued “The Board and the Executive are delighted to be welcoming over 450 schoolchildren to Tuesdays Schools’ Opera Evening as part of our education programme. This is a unique opportunity to introduce opera to a younger generation in most cases, for very the first time. This education initiative comes on the back of our schools’ workshop weeks held in ten local primary’s between February and early May. The feedback from children and teachers is amazing.”
Tickets have now sold out for our Saturday night performance of ‘Don Pasquale’. Limited tickets for our other opera performances are available here you can still book tickets for a number of other festival performances. If you would like to purchase Concert Tickets you can do so here and Recital Tickets can be purchased here. Many of the performances throughout the 2019 festival have Dining Options which can be viewed and purhcased here.
