What to wear?
The Blackwater Valley Opera Festival has converted the former stables of Lismore Castle into a beautiful setting for its productions, and every effort has been made to weatherproof the venue and maximise comfort for its patrons by adding a roof and tiered seating. However, as we know, the weather in Ireland can be unpredictable, and the evenings do get chilly. Please ensure you bring appropriate clothing on the night, and consider adding a warm throw or blanket.
There is no dress code for our opera productions, However, many of our patrons like to take the opportunity to dress up, on occasion having to match their wellies with their dress suit or summer cocktail dress. We really don’t mind as long as you feel comfortable, and are dressed suitably for the weather whatever that might be on the night!
